Introduction to Coastal Navigation

Learn the fundamentals of coastal navigation including using a chart & compass, planning a trip, navigating in fog, and understanding how tides, currents and weather affect you. Past participants have raved about the quality of the course materials, the hands-on instruction, the fun they had, the stress-free learning environment, and of course, the home cooked meals! We will launch our kayaks from the beach at Knubble Bay Camp and practice navigating while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding coastline and islands. To maximize our time on the water, you will complete 4-hours of self-paced on-line learning prior to the weekend. At your convenience, you will watch a series of 5-to-10-minute videos that were developed specifically for this course. Each video provides clear and concise instruction on one course topic.
